The local fishing news that will be presented here is that of major importance to all outdoorsman within the State of Connecticut. Everytime we turn around, land and access to waterways are being taken from us. There are questions about where our license fees go, and the government seems to come at the fisheries when cuts need to be made to the budget. This is where news will be shared about our fight. We need our voices to be heard. Complacency has gotten us where we are today.

An Appeal to the Connecticut Sporting Community

In 2014, the Department of Environmental Protection was combined with the Department of Energy rendering the DEP a mostly ineffective entity. We now have approximately half of the conservation officers in the field than we did in 2006. Programs have been cut; access has been lost, and we have to pay for a trout stamp because the state legislature claims that there is not enough money to fund the hatcheries.
